The Future of Clean Energy

Today, how most developed countries produces energy is mainly, petroleum coal, and natural gas. But, as time progresses, we are seeing more and more nuclear power plants. What these power plants do is, they split atoms which produce power, which is called fission. What scientist now are trying to invent is a way to get power of fusion, which combines atoms to produce energy. Fusion will be a huge step um from the energy resources we use today. Some of the benefits of fusion over fission are: It is much cheaper, is produces even more power, it doesn't cause radiation, and it doesn't have any radioactive outputs such as depleted uranium rods. Now scientist are getting into the entitlement stages of the process and fusion reactors are dated to be in a workable in  about five years.

Scientist are using lasers to map the world

With advances in satellite technology, scientist are now using lasers to map out unexplored areas of the world. Its much like using sonar, but instead of using radio waves, it literally shoots a large laser from space which is reflected off the ground and back to the satellite. Only about 10% of the ocean floor has actually been mapped out and using the powerful lasers could be reflected off the ocean floor to map out the whole ocean. Lasers can also be shot through vegetation, so it can be easier to map out dense forest. The laser has actually found an up to five  what is believed to be ancient temples that has been camouflaged by a rain forest. Along with any easier way of mapping the ocean floor and being a better explorer than Indiana Jones ever was, this type of satellite can be used to accurately map other planets. Hopefully, the technology can be improved so that we could use it for more purposes.

Slowing Down Time

Einstein's Theory of special relativity states that the faster an object travels, the slower time goes for the object. Today, scientist were able to prove this but putting two atomic clocks inside of an airplane and watching the time go bye.

Sounds like science fiction, right? What this means is that is someone was on a plane, thy would be aging slower that the people on the ground. This gives so many opportunities to learn more about the universe. Such as, since we are moving through space at nearly the speed of light, what if we were to go the opposite direction at the same speed? Would time be then be still? Well, only time will tell and until that time comes, we will continue to gaze in the sky and wonder.
