Today, how most developed countries produces energy is mainly, petroleum coal, and natural gas. But, as time progresses, we are seeing more and more nuclear power plants. What these power plants do is, they split atoms which produce power, which is called fission. What scientist now are trying to invent is a way to get power of fusion, which combines atoms to produce energy. Fusion will be a huge step um from the energy resources we use today. Some of the benefits of fusion over fission are: It is much cheaper, is produces even more power, it doesn't cause radiation, and it doesn't have any radioactive outputs such as depleted uranium rods. Now scientist are getting into the entitlement stages of the process and fusion reactors are dated to be in a workable in about five years.
What about the waste products it creates that are radioactive and can kill plant and animals? Are they working on a place to contain those that won't blow-up and kill people? What will they do when they run out of stuff to make the nuclear energy? However, i do see your point on it being cheaper and somewhat cleaner but it still harms the environment. So, I may just use that sugarcane ethanol like they do in Latin America.
ReplyDeleteNew energy sources are very important. I'm glad you did your article on this because I've been thinking of how if there were alternative energy sources a lot of political conflicts would be solved. And, our economy would be a lot better because we'd have a more jobs and lees outsourcing. So, new forms of energy could be extremely useful.
